Apple’s CEO and co-founder calls it a day as the chief of the company
The face behind Apple – Steve Jobs – has handed his resignation as the CEO of Apple. He attributed his resignation to the fact that his poor health, which has deteriorated over the years, could not allow him to actively and effectively manage Apple. Job had earlier taken a medical leave in January and his resignation did not come as a surprise to many.
In his place as CEO Tim Cook is expected to take over. Tim was the companies COO and was acting as CEO when Jobs was away on sick leave. Steve jobs is still expected to help the company out in advisory capacity and is now the chairman of the Apple’s board. This will ensure there is a smooth transition of Business and present minimum affect on the performance of Apple.
