Purchased laptop off craigslist in Dec 09 had what i thought was a genuine copy of windows 7 installed. I checked and it showed activated before purchase. On 2/26/10 update installed the (KB971033) system restarted and wow I have counterfeit software. I have a desktop that i installed windows 7 on no problem but i have the actual disk with Activation code. So i followed your directions and uninstalled the update without problems.
