Windows Azure cloud fastest according to tests
Not cumulus clouds or nimbostratusy, but Windows Azure is the fastest of the clouds. At least according to the latest statistics on virtual services available on the market.
In tests carried out under CloudSleuth Windows Azure won with such services as Amazon EC2, Google App Engine, Rackspace, and a dozen others. The test is primarily a response time of the service to connect. Microsoft‘s cloud turned out to be the fastest solution in the rankings conducted. Statistics on the last 30 days in the world. Not much worse than the Azure was Google App Engine, while third place went to OpSource. Amazon‘s service was only in 7th place in the ranking CloudSleuth. It should be noted that the differences between the various solutions are small – in the top ten, they are one-two seconds.
CloudSleuth tested any of the services every 15 minutes – for a year. Each test simulates the loading of two web pages containing 40 items of descriptive and small images in JPG format, and higher image size 1.75 MB. This test has its drawbacks, of course, but gives a general idea about the speed of the individual services. The differences between the best services in the cloud computing are not great, but it is worth to note that even the smallest delay is proof of the worse performance. Given that the largest companies like Apple, Amazon, Google and Microsoft is increasingly put on the clouds, it might be important for their further development.
